PlasmaLift
This type of plasma has many names, including but not limited to "thermal plasma", "hot plasma" and "dot plasma".
At Foxx Hill Plasma Lift, we are proud to offer this service using the PLAXEL+/LUXE PLASMA, true plasma pen.
This plasma pen delivers a true plasma arc from the tip of the nano-probe - without touching or probing the skin. The plasma energy is sent into the epidermis (the top layer only) of the skin with pinpoint precision and signals the fibroblasts to create new collagen.
After each plasma arc is delivered, it creates a tiny, white dot on the skin with a micro-sized carbon crust in the center. You will notice the PLAXEL+/Luxe Plasma pen is a true plasma pen with True Plasma Technology. You will notice the unique purple plasma arc it delivers - not a yellow electric spark from electric pens. True plasma's other characteristic is the white dots placed onto the skin.
After the first 24-48 hours, carbon crusts will emerge from the skin where the white dots used to be. These crusts will fall off within 5-7 days but can take a bit longer depending on an individual's healing process.
Continual progress will be seen after your session with full results at 10-12 weeks post-session. Clients are welcome to book additional sessions in the same area only after the 12-week waiting period.
During your initial consultation, you will be advised how to best prepare for your upcoming appointment as well as provided aftercare, and post-care instructions.
Thermal plasma can be used for a variety of target areas on the face/body.
Prior to your session, numbing cream is applied to the target area.
Due to risks of hyperpigmentation/scarring, this type of service is only suitable for Fitzpatrick skin types I-III.
ALL clients must have a full consultation that includes a spot test in the appropriate location to determine if you are a good candidate for this type of plasma service.
Both men and women are welcome to book this service.
For a full list of services offered with this type of plasma, please see the full pricing menu.
Plasma channeling provides all the great benefits you would receive from micro-channeling, but with no needles or downtime.
Increases collagen production along with a lifting effect on the area.
This service also pairs very well with our other plasma services and is an excellent option before utilizing thermal plasma.
Unlike the thermal plasma, that is limited with Fitzpatrick skin types, the plasma channeling service is suitable for higher types. This service is long-lasting with best results seen through a package, as they will build on each other.
This service is suitable for both men and women.

No Needles, No Downtime.
This plasma service is great for building collagen, for superficial and fine lines, and around some of the more delicate eye areas, as well as a lifting effect with best results when done in a series.
No numbing is needed and no downtime.
Cold plasma can be used on individuals with a higher Fitzpatrick number.
Both men and women are suitable for this service.

Frequently Asked Questions
The goal to provide the best possible service and experience here at Foxx Hill. If your questions are not answered here, please do not hesitate to call, email, or send a message directly through our website.
Why Choose Foxx Hill and what Is unique about what you offer vs. others?
At Foxx Hill, the sole focus is plasma and are incredibly proud to serve Delaware as a Luxe Plasma certified provider and offer all services with the PLAXEL+/LUXE PLASMA pen. A TRUE plasma pen, NOT an electric pen - the majority are electric. You can see the distinct difference with the purple plasma arc (not a yellow/orange electric) and the distinct white dots on the skin that form true carbon crusts, not just scabs.
This plasma pen features the MOST effective form of plasma treatment on the market, providing clients with True Plasma Technology with thermal plasma, plasma channeling, cold plasma, hair improvement, spray technique, and ball tip for fine lines and superficial wrinkles.
Visit our 'Results' page to see the difference and PLAXEL+/LUXE PLASMA pen results.
I am a low Fitzpatrick. Do I still need a spot test for PlasmaLift?
Yes.To provide the highest quality service, results, and safety, everyone is required to have a spot test if you want thermal plasma. It is still possible to have hyperpigmentation or another adverse reaction to this service even if you are a lighter skin color. We also test the numbing cream to be sure there is no negative side effects as well. Spot tests should be done at least 2 weeks prior to your desired PlasmaLift session.
Spot testing for PlasmaLift is $100. This fee will also go towards your overall cost if you are a good candidate and there are no negative reactions.
Is PlasmaLift painful?
A topical numbing cream is used in the area treated and will take about 45-60 minutes to take full effect. You may have a slight discomfort at some point, but we do our best to make you as comfortable as possible. Some areas may be more sensitive than others.
What should I expect during my first consultation?
All consultations for all of the services offered at Foxx Hill are free of charge.
Details of all plasma services will be discussed, along with which options and plasma services may be best for your desired results, based on your questionnaire. All forms, consents, and questionnaires are required to be filled out. This also a great time for additional questions. Face mapping the target area, detailed notes will be taken, and photos as necessary.
We will discuss how to prepare for your upcoming session, what to expect the day of your session, aftercare protocol, and the aftercare kit. Your spot test can also be scheduled at this time.
How do I care/prepare my skin for plasmaLift?
During your consultation, we will discuss and go over how to prepare your skin for the best results. You will have a copy to take home so you don't have to worry about memorizing everything. It is important to give yourself at least 2-3 weeks to prepare.
Some important key precautions include, but not limited to:
-
No sunbathing/direct sun exposure
-
Wearing SPF 50 for at least 14 days prior (better if longer)
-
No self-tanning products or tanning beds (tanned skin cannot be treated)
-
No Vitamin A derivatives, retinols, AHA's (at least 14 days prior to session)
-
Avoid other treatments in the area (skin treatments, peels, laser, etc...)
-
Avoid injectables (Botox, etc..) in the area (at least 28 days prior)
-
Dermal fillers - Need to wait at least 8 weeks
-
You may want to increase your Vitamin C at least 14 days prior to your session, as this can help aid in your overall healing process.
-
If you have a history of cold sores or prone to them in the area, you will need your medication 3 days prior and 3 days after.
-
If you are wanting to treat your eye area, plan to wear glasses to your session - as this area tends to swell a lot. Contact lenses are not recommended until swelling has gone away (around 3 days post-session).
*** If you have plans to travel coming up within the 4-month period post-PlasmaLift that would compromise your ability to adhere to the aftercare protocols and skin care, it is best to WAIT. You as a client, are liable and responsible for following all of the post-care instructions ***
How do I care for my skin after a plasmaLift session?
During your consultation, we will go over not only preparing your skin for PlasmaLift, but also the specific aftercare protocols you MUST follow. This is an incredibly important step in your healing process and will play a key role in your healing and overall results.
Some key aftercare protocols will include, but not limited to:
-
No rubbing, picking, scratching at carbon crusts - they MUST fall off on their own.
-
Keeping the area clean and dry
-
Using your aftercare kit as instructed
-
Wearing SPF 50 daily
-
No sunbathing, tanning beds, or tanning products, direct sun exposure
-
No sunbathing for 4 months - recommended 6 months while still wearing SPF 50 in the area.
-
No makeup in the area until crusts have completely fallen (special concealer is available at request that is safe after 24 hours after your session)
-
No saunas or exercise that induces sweating the first 7-8 days
-
No scented lotions
-
No Botox/ dermal fillers, or other injections in the area - wait 21 days post-session, dermal fillers - wait 8 weeks
-
No swimming or hot tubs
-
No Retinols or Vitamin A derivatives - wait 21 days
-
No exfoliating or harsh products in the area
-
Everything that touches the area MUST be clean - hands, pillow cases, bedding, etc..
When you come in for you session (at least 2 weeks after your spot test) we will go over the aftercare before and after your session. You will have a copy to take home with you - so there's no worry about having to memorize everything.
Each client will have a complete aftercare kit specifically catered to maximizing your healing and results through the following weeks post-session.
Your 6-week follow-up appointment should be scheduled at this time as well.
What is the downtime for PlasmaLift?
The area treated may feel like a mild burning sensation.
If you are getting the eye area treated, this area tends to swell more than others, especially within the first 3 days.
Within the first 24-48 hours, you may have some swelling and redness in the area. The swelling should subside after the first 2-3 days. During this time, the carbon crusts will also emerge on the skin, and it is absolutely imperative that you do not rub, scratch, or pick at these carbon crusts as it can lead to scarring and/or infection.
Healing time for each individual is different and dots may start to fall off as early 5-7 days, but can also take up to 12-14. If your health is compromised, we ask that you reschedule, as this will have an effect on your healing time and PlasmaLift cannot be performed if you are sick. When your carbon crusts fall off, it may take several weeks for the pink dots to fully heal, this is normal - everyone is different.
You will be given a complete aftercare kit and instructions to take home with you.
How many sessions will I need for my desired results?
Everyone is different in what type of results they are hoping to achieve. In most cases, you may only need 1 session to achieve your results. If you have more or deeper wrinkles or loose skin, it may be a few. Services targeting stretch marks or acne scars are sold in a package of (3) because those will take a few.
PlasmaLift pairs extremely well (and we recommend) with the other plasma services offered at Foxx Hill. You may want to start with a series of cold plasma, plasma channeling or a combination of those before going to PlasmaLift to further enhance your results!
Quantity of sessions or plasma combinations can be discussed during your consultation.
How long will my PlasmaLift results last?
We cannot stop the aging process, but results are long-lasting and can be anywhere from 2 -5 years, depending on how well you take care of your overall health and skin outside of plasma treatments. Other lifestyle factors that will affect your results are smoking, consuming alcohol, and prolonged sun exposure/sun bathing, and other factors that increase skin aging.
If you have PlasmaLift or a series of cold plasma or plasma channeling done and are satisfied with your results, you can also come in for monthly maintenance or as needed. Everyone is unique in their personal preferences.
How soon will I see results?
Although it will be mostly swelling immediately after, you will also begin to see some results and tightening of the skin. Gradual, continual, improvement will be taking place over the following weeks with full results at 10-12 weeks. After the 12-week mark, you can decide if you would like to book another PlasmaLift session or other plasma service or not.
How long is a single session?
Sessions generally are based on how large of an area worked on. Doing an eye lift will take less time than doing a full tummy lift.
Numbing takes 45-60 minutes to take effect. If you are having a larger area done (tummy, breast lift, neck, full face etc...) these will be done in divided sections with numbing cream applied to each new area until complete. This may be over the course of 2 - 6+ hours total. Other large areas may be best to schedule in different sessions on different days. These are all factors and considerations discussed during your consultation.
What if I would like to book another session for the same area?
You are welcome to book an additional PlasmaLift session in the same area after the 12-week waiting period. This is the time it will take the area to heal and for your full results to be seen from the previous session.
You can book in a different area at any time that has not already been treated and in the healing stage.
Am I a good candidate for the PlasmaLift treatment?
PlasmaLift (thermal plasma) is not suitable for everyone. During your consultation, you will be required to fill out all the appropriate forms, and questionnaires to determine if you are a good candidate for PlasmaLift services. A spot test is also required - even if you have had a PlasmaLift treatment before elsewhere.
This type of plasma is for Fitzpatrick types 1-3 and even within this rage, everyone at Foxx Hill is required to have a spot test.
Who is not a good candidate for PlasmaLift and other contraindications and risks
A medical history questionnaire will be provided for you to fill out to determine if you are a good candidate.

Who is not a good candidate for PlasmaChanneling and other contraindications and risks
A medical history questionnaire will be provided for you to fill out to determine if you are a good candidate.
While PlasmaChanneling™ treatments are safe and effective for most women and men, there are some people who will not be good candidates for these types of treatments.
Here is a general contraindication list that should be considered by anyone who is thinking of undergoing PlasmaChanneling™:
-
Pregnancy – if you are pregnant or nursing you are advised to not receive any PlasmaChanneling™ treatments. To date there have been no studies conducted to see what effects these treatments may have on the unborn child, but as a general rule, pregnant women should stay away from any type of cosmetic/elective procedures.
-
Diabetes - unstable diabetes patients should not be treated due to problems with healing.
-
Accutane or any related acne medication - Accutane or any related drug should be discontinued for a minimum of 6 months prior to undergoing PlasmaChanneling™.
-
Active Herpes Simplex in the treatment area - treatment is possible once the outbreak is healed, however it may be advisable to take prescription strength antiviral medication to keep this condition in remission during the treatment series.
-
Dry skin - if your skin is overly dry, you will need to start moisturizing or do some hydrating treatments beforehand to ensure the condition is under control prior to any PlasmaChanneling session.
-
Any active inflammatory skin condition e.g. eczema, psoriasis, infection, rash or any type of dermatitis at the treatment site (because it may aggravate the condition).
-
Metal Implants - pacemaker or metal implants near the treatment area. You may experience some discomfort near sites where metal implants are present. YA Dr.'s medical clearance may be required beforehand. While we have not experienced any major issues, an electrical type of energy is being used and we must take precautions.
Does cold plasma or Plasma Channeling require numbing?
No. Cold plasma or Plasma channeling sessions do not require any numbing to the area.
How long does a Cold Plasma or Plasma Channeling session take?
Sessions can be from 60 minutes to 2 hours, depending on if you purchase sessions with Cold plasma, PLasmaChanneling combo or the total combination package with all 3 tips. Add-on services can also increase the time.
Is there downtime for Cold Plasma or Plasma Channeling services?
No. Neither Cold Plasma, ball tip, or Plasma Channeling sessions have any downtime.
Can I mix Cold Plasma, Channeling, or ball tip sessions with PlasmaLift?
Absolutely! By adding Cold Plasma, ball tip, and/or Plasma Channeling sessions prior to starting PlasmaLift, you will enhance your results even further! If you purchase a series of Plasma Channeling sessions, you will need to wait 1 week prior to starting any PlasmaLift sessions.
What is a PROHAIR RADIANCE session like?
The plasma sessions targeting your hair will be similar to Plasma Channeling. There is no numbing required, or any downtime afterwards. It is recommended to come in consistently for the full 10-week package for best results. If you are consistent with the sessions and with your home kit, this will optimize your results.
Will plasma work on bald spots?
Yes and no - that would depend on how long it has been there. The plasma energy works by helping active hair follicles absorb all the right nutrients - It would be recommended to first see a hair specialist to determine if you have active hair follicles in that area.
How soon will I see results from PROHAIR RADIANCE sessions?
Everyone can respond differently, and depending on how consistent you are with sessions and your hair kit, you may start to see results within the first 30 days. Prior to beginning package sessions, 'before' photos will be taken and used as a progress comparison later on.
LUXE Plasma hair kits are also available when you run out of your initial supply. The LUXE dispenser only comes with your first kit, but if for any reason you need an additional one, you can purchase one on its own. You may also choose to purchase complete hair kits and come in for monthly maintenance sessions or as needed.
What is the difference between the LUXE Plasma Pen and the PLAXEL+ plasma pen you use?
PLAXEL is currently undergoing a brand transition. The new black "LUXE PLASMA" pen and the new white PLAXEL+ plasma pen are the same pen. This is important to note - if you visit the official website, you may see two different names. Note these are the same True Plasma pen and the quality and plasma pen are the same providing the same great service and resuts!
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! Recipient must have a full consultation, but you can purchase any amount towards their spot test and/or session. If they are not suitable for PlasmaLift, the gift certificate credit will go on their account as a credit towards another type of plasma session ( Cold plasma, ball tip, plasma channeling, or hair package).
